Rayetta J Applekamp 86 of Ontonagon passed away at Bayside Village Nursing Home in L'Anse on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

She was born in Florence Wisconsin on August 7, 1932 to Ray and Irmaguard (Gilmer) Peters. Rayetta had lived in the Bergland area and later in life move to Ontonagon. She had been a member of the Bergland ladies aid society, enjoyed agate picking and knitting. She also loved to attend church services and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Throughout her whole life she was always a very happy person.

Rayetta is survived by her children Judy (John) Niskanen  of Ontonagon and Michael (Toni) Applekamp of Ewen, grandchildren Travis of Ontonagon, Jeremy of Marquette, Gabriel of Portland Oregon, Jarvis of Channing Michigan, and Michelle of Spring Valley Wisconsin, 11 great grandchildren, sisters Irmaguard and Melvina.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Ellis, Clifford, Imogene and Henry.

Funeral services Will Take Pl., Friday 1 PM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ontonagon.

The Cane Funeral Home is assisting the family.
