March 12, 1916 – June 11, 2008
Reino J. Aho, 92, of Ontonagon, formerly of Southfield and Farmington Hills, passed away at Maple Manor Nursing Center on Wednesday, June 11,2008. He was born in White Pine, Michigan, the son of John and Minnie Aho.
Reino grew up on the family farm in Green, Michigan. He served in the Michigan CC Corps. Reino was a member of the Operating Engineers for 58 years and worked on numerous major construction projects including Mackinaw Bridge, the International Bridge, Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie and the Renaissance Center in Detroit.
He is survived by son Gary (Avis) Aho, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, grandchildren Dena (Michael) Kelly of Chicago, Illinois, and Lee (Susie) Aho of Sarasota, Florida, brother, Carl of Ontonagon Michigan, in addition numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Minnie Aho, wife of 65 years, Florence, son Dennis and sister, Elsie.
A graveside service was held at Riverside Cemetery on June 14, 2008
In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Reino's name to either the Finnish Center Association Cultural Center Farmington Hills, Michigan, or charity of choice.
