Richard (Rick) Johnson, 88, formerly of Ontonagon, MI, passed on to eternal rest on February 24, 2025.

Richard was born on November 1,1936 to Wayne and Hilja (Ahola) Johnson of Greenland, MI. He went to Mass City School and shortly after enlisted in the U.S. Army.

Rick is survived by his spouse, Myrtle of Mass City. Children Kim Baker, Gary (Jen Heikkila) Johnson, and Deb (Rob) Parker. Stepchildren Mark Hiltunen, Keith Hiltunen, and Shelly Haagsma. A brother Alfred (Sharon) Johnson, and sister-in-law Mary Jo Johnson. Grandchildren Tara (Jason) Strelow, Derek (Katie) Baker, Rick (Stephanie) Parker, and Brigett (Matt) Johnson. Step-grand-children Andi (Aaron) Emery and Anna Haagsma. Along with 9 great grandchildren, and a step-great-grandchild.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Johnson.

A graveside service with military rites will be held at the Rousseau Cemetery on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00am. David Blake will officiate and the Ontonagon County Veteran's Association will be performing military honors.

The Cane Funeral Home of Ontonagon is assisting the family with arrangements.
