Obituary

Robert Clyde Dix, 84, of Greenland, MI passed away at the Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital on October 3, 2012 after a short battle with cancer.

He was born September 30, 1928 in Houghton, MI, a son of the late John and Eva (Voelker) Dix. He was a graduate of the Houghton High School, and was also a veteran of the Korean War. On June 19, 1954, he was united in marriage to Delores DeHut and the couple made their home in Greenland. Robert was an electrician at the White Pine Copper Co. until his retirement. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed sports and hardly ever missed watching a Detroit Tiger or Green Bay Packer game.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva (Voelker) Dix; brothers, Roy, John , Jim and Bill and sisters, Dorothy and Katherine.

He is survived by his wife, Delores; daughter, Mary Lou (Glenn) Anderson; son Bob (Debbie) Dix; four grand-daughters: Stacy Anderson, Jacki Anderson, Alexandra Dix and Selena Dix; and grandson, Glenn Anderson. Also surviving is a brother, Charles (Sue) Dix of Ishpeming and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service for Robert will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon, with Pastor Rosemary DeHut officiating.
