Robert Rafael Niemi of Ontonagon passed away on January 30, 2025, at his home.

Bob was born on February 21, 1958, at Ontonagon Memorial Hospital to Ray and Mary (Stimac) Niemi. He graduated from Ontonagon Area High School in 1976. After graduation, he was employed at Ontonagon Memorial Hospital. After several years, he moved to Laguna Hills, California where he worked for Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. Four years later, he became unit secretary in the department of Hospital Information Systems. He was praised by his peers for his excellent computer skills. Later he moved to Tempe, Arizona and worked managing convenience stores for several years then returned to Ontonagon where he continued working in retail management until retirement.

He is survived by his sisters, Ann Mogan (Michael), Geri Crawford (Mike), Mary Hamm (Lawrence), Teresa Hawkins (Keith) and brother, David Niemi (Jean) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his friend, Harry Kenneally, parents Mary and Ray Niemi and nephews, Brian and Patrick Mogan.

A memorial service and burial will be held later this year.
