IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert A.
Watt
April 10, 1934 – October 13, 2011
Robert A. (Bob) Watt, 77, of Ontonagon was called home on Oct 13, 2011.
Bob was born April 10, 1934, the son of Ralph and Evelyn (Nehmer) Watt. He graduated from Ontonagon High School with the class of 1953. Bob was drafted and spent two years in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956, stationed in Germany. On Sep 2, 1961 he was united in marriage to Bonita A. Nygaard. They spent 47 beautiful years together until she preceded him in death, Aug 14, 2008.
Bob, as he liked to say, was a "Jack of all Trades and Master of None." He worked his whole life, beginning as Drift Operator at the White Pine Mine, and then moving over to the Ontonagon Paper Mill in 1957, where he was hired as an electrician and continued working there for 40 years until his retirement in 1997.
He was an active member in the community, serving many years as a Trustee on the Ontonagon Township Board. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed his hunting camp and spending deer seasons with his sons and grandsons. Later in life, he enjoyed spending quality time and traveling with his special friend JoAnne (Jody) Miller.
Bob is survived by his sons, Bruce (Kelly), Brian (Rhonda), Bob (Kim), and Ralph (Keyla) Watt; and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Charles Watt.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Ontonagon with Reverend Bruce Steinberg officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
