Ruth Joyce Kopsi, 84, of Bruce Crossing, Michigan, left us on September 5, 2025, after a long a battle with health issues. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend, Ruth will always be remembered for her kindness, her willingness to help others, her contagious laughter and positive attitude.

Born August 26, 1941, in Trout Creek, Michigan to Wayne and Bertha (Niemi) Bosio, she grew up with a sister and two brothers: Melvin (Donna) Bosio of Ontonagon, MI, Shirley (Bob) Kopsi of Trout Creek, MI, and John (Sharan) Bosio of Ann Arbor, MI.

She married Ronald D Kopsi in 1959 and they went on the have five children and she is survived by: David (Amy) Kopsi of Bruce Crossing, MI, Ronda (Eddie) Ragan of Graham, NC, Sandra (Rob) Arneson of Oregon, IL, Steven (Renee) Kopsi of Virginia, MN, and Scott (Shana) Kopsi of Bruce Crossing, MI.

She was a stay-at-home mom and raised five children. Later she worked as a live-in personal chef and personal assist for many years in Lake Forest, IL. She always loved long walks in nature and all animals, playing with pets (dogs/birds/etc.) and she was an avid reader.

She is preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Bertha (Niemi) Bosio, her spouse Ronald Kopsi, her brother Melvin Bosio, her sister-in-law Donna Bosio, her brother-in-law Bob Kopsi, and her sister-in-law Sharan Bosio.

She loved and is survived by six grandchildren: Jeffrey Larsen of Indianapolis, IN, Tracey Sosin of DeKalb, IL, Samantha Ragan of Vinton, VA, Andrea Ragan of Graham, NC, Natalie Kopsi of Bruce Crossing, MI, Savanna Kopsi of Freeport, IL.

She was also blessed and survived by five great grandchildren: Danielle Frey, Brayden Sosin, Anna (The Rock) Johnson, Jaxton Mitchell and Soren Ragan.

A service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm ET, at the American Legion Hall, 119 Spur Street, Trout Creek, MI 49967. All are welcome.

In Lieu of Flowers - donations can be made to the Ontonagon County Animal Shelter.
