Shirley Spotton, 86, of Ontonagon passed away from congenital liver disease on December 29, 2013 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital.

Shirley Grace Killoran was born in Fairport, MI on September 27th, 1927. Her family moved to Ontonagon during her high school years and she graduated with the Class of 1945. She lived in Olympia, WA for a short time, where on October 21, 1950, she married Bernard Spotton. After a few years in Olympia, they returned to Ontonagon made it their lifelong home.

Shirley had worked many years at White Pine Copper Company, from where she retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; an infant son; son John; five sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Karvonen (Robert); Cindy Aleknavicius (Albert) and Jane Doran (Dennis); seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

At her request, there will be no funeral service. There will be a graveside service in the spring at Woodlawn Cemetery in Rockland, MI.
