Susan Patricia Kemppainen, born July 20th, 1958, passed peacefully at the Howard Young hospital in Woodruff, WI on July 4th, 2025. She lived in White Pine, MI with husband Pete.

Sue's main hobby was collecting antiques, but it was rarely the high ticket, universally coveted pieces that caught her eye at estate sales and all-towns. She had an uncanny knack for seeing the potential in the unassuming, the worn, the forgotten things tucked in corners, basements, or the bottoms of lot sale bins. With a little love and a lot of elbow grease, the small house she shared with Pete became a museum for these unlikely treasures, with interesting stories to match. When she wasn't restoring old furniture or Victorian light fixtures, she exercised one of the greenest thumbs in White Pine by tending her beautiful gardens and robust indoor plants. During colder months, she would apply her meticulous attention to detail to stained glass projects that now decorate the homes of family and friends. She was well-loved in the community, and she'll be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held on September 27th, 2025, from 1PM - 4PM at the American Legion in White Pine, MI.
