Obituary

Suzette (Sue) Denise Picotte, 45, of Ontonagon, MI, passed away September 19, 2011 at the Aspirus Long Term Unit due to complications from Polymyositis and Scleroderma.

Sue was born February 2, 1966 in Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Illinois to Beverly and Thomas H. Picotte. She graduated from Ontonagon Senior High School in 1984. Sue loved to fish and couldn't wait for opening day every year. She also loved to bowl. Sue was involved and enjoyed selling on Ebay, where she had two accounts, one being a "Store," and was awarded status as a Power Seller. She also had her own website, Yoopercreations.com.

Sue loved the local wildlife. She had numerous birdfeeders and chipmunk feeders in the back yard and would spend a lot of time watching them and trying to identify what kind of new bird showed up. Sue also was a lover of cats. Sue had 2 cats, Fuzz and Baby, that kept her company.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Bridgette Leigh Yakovich of Ontonagon, MI; son, Nicholas C. Yakovich of Menominee, MI; sisters, Lori Picotte Silver of Ontonagon, MI and Joanna Klein Charman (Greg) of Whittier, CA; and brother, Clifford Picotte (Renee), of Ontonagon, MI. She is also survived by her parents, Beverly Holcomb Picotte and Thomas H. Picotte of Ontonagon, MI; nieces, Lauren Silver Seid (Ken) of Marquette, MI, Natalie and Miranda Silver of Ontonagon, MI, and Lauren and Rachel Charman of Whittier, CA; and one grandchild, Joseph Yakovich Whitten of Hancock, MI.

Sue was preceded in death by her grandmother, Violet A. King; grandfather, Nicholas Miskulin; grandmother, Edith Joos of Ontonagon, MI; and her aunt, Cheryl D. Thompson of Linden, MI.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a Memorial Service held at the United Methodist Church in Ontonagon, MI on September 27th at 4 p.m., with Pastor Bruce Steinberg officiating. A luncheon will be held in the church basement following the Memorial.

Our Family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at the Aspirus Long Term Care Unit and Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital. A special thanks to Beth Immonen and Mary Jo Bodie for their care and compassion in making Sue more comfortable and at ease during her stay at AOH. Our family would also like to thank to Dr. Austin, Dr. Raja, and Dr. Mary Haller of Portage Hospital for her support and constant communication with our family.
