Theodore "Ted" Meindl 86, of White Pine, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital's Long Term Care Unit.

He was born May 30, 1921 in Butternut, WI son of the late Andrew & Clara Meindl. In 1943 Ted was united in marriage to the former Patricia Rein. He served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1946. Ted was employed for 32 years at the White Pine Copper Mine.

Music was a big part of Ted's life. He played in various bands for over 30 years. Ted continued playing music into his 80's, entertaining residents in area nursing homes. He was also very proud of having been a past commander of the VFW post.

Ted is survived by his daughter Sue (Pete) Kemppainen, Brother Richard Meindl and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 4th 3 p.m. at St. Jude's Catholic Church in White Pine.
