Obituary

Viola Marjatta Karttunen, longtime resident of Green, Michigan, passed away on January 13, 2010, at the age of 96 in Kingsford, Michigan, where she had been living for the past three years.

Viola was born in Ontonagon on August 22, 1913, the daughter of Charles and Hilda (Pietila) Korvenpaa. She grew up on her parents' farm in Green where she attended elementary school. She and Arthur enjoyed time at their beach on Lake Superior, camping in the Copper Country, and a special vacation they took to visit family in Finland.
