Violet Ann Pestka 66 of Ontonagon passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Westgate Nursing & Rehab Community in Ironwood.

She was born December 29, 1943 to Elmer Marks, Sr. and Elizabeth DeFrancisco. After graduating from Ontonagon High School she married Ronald Pestka.

Violet worked at the Ontonagon paper mill until her retirement in 2006. She loved being outdoors, enjoying many hours working in her flower garden. Violet also loved to go camping with her family.

She is survived by her son, Pete (Pam), daughter Julie (Dell) Olson, daughter Missy Sharrow and son Craig (Amber), grandchildren Robert, Stephanie, Dustin, Kristopher, Denver, Carly and Hennisy, mother Elizabeth DeFrancisco, brother, Elmer Marks, Jr., sister Marjorie Bauer, sister Georgina Marks and brother Billy Marks as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband Ronald and her father Elmer, Sr.

Funeral services will take place Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Redeemer Free Lutheran Church in Ontonagon with Reverend David Nelson Officiating. Friends may call at the church 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Spring burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Ontonagon.
