Obituary

William "Bill" E. Abramson, 74, of Bruce Crossing went to be with our Lord on June 11, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI.

Bill was born November 13, 1938, in Bruce Crossing to Edward Abramson and Margaret Abramson Ekstadt and was a life-long resident of Bruce Crossing. Bill graduated from Ewen High School and attended Michigan Technological University. He was united in marriage on November 16, 1968, to Karen Hiitola in Trout Creek. Bill served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He also worked at the White Pine Copper Mine for 33 years, retiring in 2001.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, the Detroit Tigers and the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed brightening everyone's day with his quick wit, and giving anyone a laugh with his great humor.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Karen; three adoring children, Alan (Tammy) Abramson, of Mahomet, Illinois; Ann (Brian) Anderson, of California, Maryland, and Kevin Abramson, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and five wonderful grandchildren, Kevin, Jordan, Kelsey, Lauren, and Cecilia; siblings Betty (Edward) Applekamp, Joan (Stanley) Nurkkala and Eugene (Kathy) Ekstadt. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

His parents, as well as his brother, John Ekstadt, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 16 from 5-7 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home-Bruce Crossing Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 17 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, and interment with Military Honors will immediately follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Bruce Crossing.

If you don't have a smile, I'll give you one of mine. -- Author Unknown
