Obituary

William Vernon Perrin, age 92, of Ontonagon died Wednesday, September 7, 2011.

William was born June 1, 1919 to Cecil A. Perrin and Anne Violet Epsom Perrin in Vancouver, British Columbia. He was raised in the Detroit area and graduated from Northern High School. In 1941, he married Alice Mullaney.

He served in the South Pacific in the U.S. Marine Corps Second Divison from 1943-1946. He was a member of the VFW.

William was employed as a painter and carpenter in Detroit until 1959, and from 1959 until his retirement in 1983, he worked as a Conservation Officer for the DNR at the Porcupine Mountain State Park. His hobbies were woodcarving and building model ships. He also enjoyed playing pool, golfing, and fishing.

William is survived by his wife, Alice, and their four children: Patricia A. (Ronald) Karttunen of Milford, MI; Linda L. (William) Johnson of Ontonagon; Terry A. Perrin of San Francisco, CA; and William C. (Cindy) Perrin of Ontonagon. He is also survived by four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Gail; two brothers and one sister.

In accordance with William's wishes, cremation has taken place.
