Wilma Helen (nee Mayra) Hiltunen, 93, of Vero Beach, FL and Drummond Island, MI passed away March 14, 2008 at Vero Beach.

Wilma was born February 03, 1915 to the late Robert Abraham and Eva Maria (nee Marttikainen) Mayra in Greenland, MI. In 1921 the family moved to Mountain View Rd., Woodspur. She attended Greenland and Ontonagon Township schools.

On June 27, 1936 Wilma married the late Carl (Kalle Eino) Hiltunen of Rockland Twp. The couple made their home in Ontonagon and Drayton Plains, MI. In 1970 they retired from General Motors and moved to Drummond Island, MI and later to Vero Beach, FL. Wilma was active in each community for church, golf, and GM Retiree events, and was an avid gardener at their home on Drummond Island.

Wilma was preceded in death by her sister Vieno (William) Cresswell of Fowlerville, MI, brother Robert (Patty) Mayra of Utica, MI, and sister Violet (Waino) Hiltunen of Ontonagon. She is survived by nieces, nephew, and extended family.

Spring burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Ontonagon. A memorial service is being planned for the summer; arrangements are incomplete. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in Wilma's memory to the Drummond Island Lutheran Church, Box 269, Drummond Island, MI 49726.
