Winifred (Winnie) June Weisinger, 77, of Ontonagon, passed away on February 16, 2015 at Aspirus Ontonagon Long Term Facility.

Winnie was born in Ontonagon, Michigan, to Andrew and Esther (Kiminki) Store on June 23, 1937. She attended school in Mass, Ml.  She married Virgil. Weisinger on February 17, 1953 in Ontonagon.  She worked numerous jobs when she was younger, and she worked at Ontonagon Memorial Hospital as Dietary Manager until she retired in the early 90's.  Winnie liked to bake, spend time with family, and help Virgil in his wood shop and go to craft shows. She also liked to spend time outdoors and at camp.

Winnie is survived daughters, Jeanne (Jeff) Weisinger and Brenda (Tom) Maki, son, Virgil (Bonnie) Jr., brother, Robert (Donna) Store, grandchildren, Shannon, Justin, Carissa, Jared, Heather, Tasha, Shelley and Robert; great-grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Evan, Adriana, Brayden, Joshua, Chayse, Jacob, and Connor, and great-great-granddaughter,  Jaedyn, step-sisters, Phyllis (Carl) Weisinger and Elaine Kruntz. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

Winnie was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Esther, step-father, Waino Kangas, sisters, Ruthie and Nancy and their spouses, grandparents, uncles and cousins.

Per the request of the deceased, there will be no funeral service at this time. A private memorial service is being planned at a later date.

Memorials may be given to the Ontonagon County Cancer Association, or the charity of your choice.

The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Takala, the staff at the Aspirus Long Term Facility and the many other people too numerous to mention who took such good care of Mom. We would also like to thank the staff at Cane Funeral Home for their help at this difficult time.
