IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Yvonne B.
Roehm
February 3, 1937 – December 10, 2023
Yvonne B. Roehm, 86, of Ontonagon passed peacefully on December 10th at Bayside Village in L'Anse after a long struggle with dementia.
Yvonne was born on February 3, 1937 to Clifford and Berniece (Goard) Gougeon. She had one brother Byron (Mary) Gougeon. She was raised in Victoria "VIC" and attended school in Rockland, which she was very proud of. After graduating she briefly moved to Kalamazoo and roomed with her dearest friend Pat. Yvonne then married the love of her life and best friend Clarence Roehm on November 10, 1956 and resided in Rhode Island where Clarence was stationed in the Coast Guard. They later moved back to Ontonagon where they raised their three sons.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents; her brother; her brothers-in-law, Keith, John and Larry; sister-in-law Shirley; grandson-in-law Dennis Koistinen and her great grandson, Mason.
She is survived by her three sons, Bruce (Sandy), Jerry (Mary) and Scott (Cheryl); six grandchildren Todd (Debbie) Roehm, Gina (Todd) Penegor, Joshua Sullivan (Sarah), Jason (Tasha) Sullivan, Shannon Koistinen, and Jeffrey Roehm; 12 great grandchildren Ty, Daisy, AJ, Ike, Molly, Payton, Harper, Gavin, Brennan, Shay, Kade and Irelyn; sisters-in-law Beverly Roehm and Shirley Roehm; numerous nieces and nephews.
Yvonne was a member of the Ontonagon Methodist Church, worked at Montgomery Wards, Sears and JC Penny where she made many friends. Prior to their retirement she worked alongside her husband at Roehm's Steam Extraction business. They joined Good Sam's and enjoyed making memories around the campfire. She was a very talented artist, calligrapher, family genealogist and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, tatting, and listening to country music. However, her first priority was attending grandchildren's sporting/school events.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Yvonne's family sincerely appreciated the loving care she received from the staff at Ontonagon Long Term Care Facility and Bayside Village. They kept a smile on her face.
Those who wish to remember Yvonne in a special way may make gifts payable to Ontonagon County Cancer Society or to a charity of their choosing in her honor.
