Beatrice Joy (Bartanen) Ivanecky

Beatrice Joy Ivanecky (Bartanen), age 90, of North Aurora formerly of West Chicago, passed away February 4, 2023. She was born on December 28, 1932 in Rockland, Michigan to Andy and Helen Bartanen. On May 7, 1955 she was united in marriage to Joseph Ivanecky Jr. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in West Chicago and lifetime member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Rockland, MI. She gave many dedicated hours at her church and enjoyed cooking lunches for the Rotary and Lions Clubs. Beatrice was a member of the EMCEE’S couples club over 60 years. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, especially pinochle. When she made a friend, it was for life and she loved her family dearly.

Beatrice is survived by her children, Timothy (Ami), Nancy (late Scott) Hofer,  Joseph III (Carol) and Andrew Ivanecky; grandchildren; Matt and Holly Hofer, Pete Ivanecky, Davis (Caroline) Waller and Sam and Ben Ivanecky; great-grandchildren, Brooks and Emmery Waller and Kylie Hofer, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph Ivanecky Jr. in 2010 and sister, Dolores Wegs.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church, 643 E. Washington St., West Chicago at 12:00 p.m. Family and friends will be received beginning at 11:00 a.m. Future burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ontonagon, Michigan.
