Beth Allen Obituary

Beth J. Allen passed away peacefully at the Omega House in Houghton, Michigan on October 25th, 2023, at age 59.

Beth was born July 26th, 1964, in Ontonagon, Michigan, to parents James “LeRoy” Killoran and Sharon (Downing) Killoran. She attended Ontonagon High School and graduated in 1982. She married the love of her life, Roy Allen, on June 15th, 1991, in Rockland. After they married, Roy and Beth moved to Texas for a short time before moving back to Michigan, residing in the lower peninsula for two years. They then returned to the Upper Peninsula, settling in Iron Mountain for 10 years. Beth worked as a bookkeeper for Butch Neuens Landscaping. After their daughter Lacey graduated from high school and joined the Navy, Beth and Roy returned to her hometown of Rockland in 2003. Together they ran R and B Lodge and traveled the country in their RV. Additionally, Beth worked at the Ontonagon County Court House; first for the Economic Development Committee, then for the County Treasurer.

Beth is remembered and loved by family and friends for being a woman of strong faith in God as well as her deep love of family and friends. She loved to travel, from Saint Thomas to Italy, across the continental U.S. and even to Alaska. She loved to see and experience the world. She also had a deep love of Lake Superior, where she and Roy spent many evenings watching the beautiful sunsets together. Her husband Roy called her “Spark” because of her quick wit and sharp sense of humor, but mostly because he loved her so very much. Beth will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, daughter, aunt, and most of all, an amazing friend to everyone.

Beth is survived by her husband Roy Allen, her daughter Lacey Pipolo, her stepdaughter Debbie Allen, her sisters Amy Pearson, and Barbra Rotundo, and her grandchildren Vincent Pipolo, Luca Pipolo, Brian Peterson, Jennifer Peterson, Lauren Peterson, Harison Allen, and Mattheson Allen.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Sharon Killoran, and her brother Brian Killoran.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, November 18th, 2023, at Saint Paul Methodist Church in Rockland. All are welcome to come and celebrate her life. Pastor Pete LaMoine will officiate. Burial will follow in the spring.
