Bruce Williams Obituary

Bruce Williams 71 of Rockland passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

Bruce was born March 3, 1952, in Calumet, MI to Goerge and Mary (Huard) Williams. As a teenager the family later moved to Rockland MI.

1970, after High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. While home on leave, he had his first Christmas Date, with the "Love of his Life" — Debbie (Penegor). After receiving his honorable discharge in January 1972, Bruce returned to Rockland and married his "Love" September 9, 1972

Together Bruce and Debbie stayed in Rockland where they raised their three beautiful daughters: Stacey, Rosanne, and Tabitha. He Loved his "Girls" & was so very proud of them.

Bruce worked at the Ontonagon Paper Mill for over 30 years. After the mill closed, he attended Gogebic Community College and then retired shortly after. In 2010 Bruce was diagnosed with CML Leukemia and beat his fight in 2018.

Bruce enjoyed his "coffee" mornings at Henry's with the Rockland guys. He also enjoyed and had a great love and pride for his Grandchildren: Aundrea, Zachary, and Aidan; he loved watching them grow up and playing Hockey. He was the BEST "Hockey Grandpa."

Bruce and Debbie had just recently celebrated their 5lst Wedding Anniversary and welcomed their first Great-Grandson: Carter Thomas Somero in January of 2023.

Bruce was certainly a beloved member of his Rockland Community — He was very caring and kind to everyone. He was always willing to lend a hand when needed.

If you're from Rockland, you know TWO things...

You just know Bruce and Debbie & you know how much they loved each other!

If your car, snowmobile-anything, needed a jump, brakes, or general repairs... you knew who you were calling....

Bruce is survived by his loving wife Debbie, his three daughters: Stacey (Dan Yaklyvich), Rosanne (Chuck Berg), Tabitha (Paul Ross), grandchildren: Aundrea Somero, Zachary (Kelli) Somero, and Aidan Somero, great-grandson: Carter Thomas Somero, Siblings: Bonnie (Virgil) Weisinger, Steve (Cindy) Williams, Sue (Tony) Cichowski, and many nieces, nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents George and Mary Williams, brother; George (Alan) Williams Jr., sister; JoAnn Guzek
