Chester Valentine Kudlaczyk, 94, of Bruce Crossing, Michigan passed away on June 5, 2021.
Chester was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 22, 1926 to Louis and Anna (Czuchra) Kudlaczyk. He graduated as a draftsman from Wilbur Wright Trade School in Detroit. Chester was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army 21st Infantry 32nd Red Arrow Division in Japan and the Philippines. After discharge, he joined the City of Detroit police force where he worked for 25 years until retirement in 1974. He married Doris Wiinamaki of Bruce Crossing on April 29, 1961. They lived in Detroit until moving to the Wiinamaki farm at Saint Collins in 1974.
Chester is survived by his children Daniel (Pam) of Bruce Crossing, MI, Karen Pietila of New London, WI and Robert of Tucson, AZ. Grandchildren David (Kayla) Pietila of Eau Claire, WI, Timothy Gelinskey, Jeffrey & Emily Smolinski, all of New London, WI. Great-granddaughters Kaydence Person, Alli and Dorothy Pietila of Eau Claire, WI and Hayzel and Scarlett Gelinskey of New London, WI.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris, son Brian, parents, brothers and sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Hillside Cemetery in Bruce Crossing. Arrangements are by Cane Funeral Home.
