Connie was born in Milwaukee, WI, to Eugene and Donna (Hanson) Potter on November 18, 1928. She grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, IL, and received her high school diploma from J. Sterling Morton high school in Cicero. She attended Bryant and Stratton College in Chicago where she received a secretarial degree. She loved being a secretary!

After moving to Ewen, MI, Connie met Thomas Platske. They were married on October 13, 1952, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ewen. They made their home in Ewen where they were actively involved in church and community activities. Connie loved taking road trips with her sister and her friends and enjoyed berry picking, swimming, and looking for driftwood. Connie was very devoted to her family.

Connie is survived by her children, Thomas E., Theresa (Gerard) Adamczyk, Theodore (known to family and friends as Jed), Christine (James) Ojala, Timothy (Carole Robl), and Tracy (Bruce) Franti. She is also survived by granddaughters, Erica (Mike) Scherrer, Nicole (Wayne) Howie, Kalli (Nick) Yaklyvich, and Samantha Robl, and her great grandchildren, Myles, Adilyne, and Hadyn Howie; Kasia, Casimir, and Marek Scherrer; along with Austin Yaklyvich and his baby brother due in March, 2022.

She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Cameron, Dorie Platske, and Frances Platske, special nieces, nephews, and cousins, and very special friends and neighbors.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, her parents, and her sister, Jeanne, who was also her best friend. She was also preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Frank Hicks, Emil, Edward, and William Platske, and Donald Cameron.

A private funeral service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the caregivers at Aspirus Long Term Care and at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility. Their care of and compassion for Connie was truly exceptional.

The Cane Funeral Home-Bruce Crossing Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
