Donnie Negro, beloved husband and father, passed away on December 25, 2021, at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital surrounded by his family.
Don was born in Ontonagon, MI to Donald Guzek and Shirley Skog on November 30, 1971. He married his best friend Rachel Hamm with their son, Conner, who carried the ceremonial rings solidifying their love on the shoreline of Lake Superior under rays of sunshine on August 6, 2011.
Don was knowledgeable in many different jobs. His last place of employment was with Mastec out of Eagle River, WI. Don enjoyed being outdoors, metal detecting, gardening, fishing, hunting, sitting by his pond next to his wife with a cold beer and a warm fire. We will miss Don’s wittiness, kindness, his contagious smile and laugh, along with his dancing boots and his ability to always have a good time.
Donnie is survived by his wife Rachel Negro, son Conner Negro, daughter Samantha (Tray) Hammar, grandchildren Madalynn Gail and Brycen Wade, siblings Kay (Jim) Latvis, John Negro, Lynn Process, Jackie (Kevin)Ernest, Dana (John) Beard, nephew Chad Negro who was close like a brother, several nieces and nephews, in-laws Lawrence and Mary Hamm, brother-in-law Philip Hamm and sister-in-law Lindsey Hamm.
Don is preceded in death by his father Donald Guzek, mother Shirley Skog, brothers James Negro, Mark Guzek, Keith Guzek and Grandma Mary who loved Donnie very much.
A celebration of life is scheduled for May 14, 2022 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at the Ontonagon VFW.
