Dorothy A. Wainio

Dorothy A. Wainio passed away February 4, 2020 at Bayside Village in L’Anse.  Dorothy was born October 14, 1938 in Ontonagon, Michigan to the late Michael and Louise (Desormeau) Rubich. She grew up in Ontonagon and graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1956. She married the late Oscar John Wainio in 1959 and resided with him in Ontonagon for many years.  She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her cats, following the Royal family and spending time with family. She was a kind and caring Aunt. She enjoyed her friends at Rolling Meadows and the staff at Bayside.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, her sisters Mary Lou Turin and Theresa Rubich and sister-in-law Mary Jane Rubich. She is survived by her brother Michael Rubich, brother-in-law Bill Turin and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service is planned June 6th at noon at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Ontonagon. 

Cane Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
