Douglas Scott Obituary

Douglas James Scott, 66, passed away on September 19th at his home in Ewen, Michigan.

Doug, the son of Jean Scott (Simpson) and Allan Scott, was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 25, 1954. He graduated from Troy High School in 1972 and immediately joined the United States Army, serving as an operating room technician.

He married Susan Scott (Thomas) on July 25, 1987. They had two children, David Allan and Elizabeth (Betsy) Jean, after moving to Ewen, Michigan. He worked as a welder for Oldenburg Group Inc. for 28 years before retiring in 2018. He loved spending time in nature, earned his third-degree black belt in karate in 2000, and considered his two children his proudest accomplishments. He enjoyed hunting, learning, and spending time with his loved ones. Doug was a hard worker and a wonderful family man.

He is survived by his wife and children, his brothers Dave, Tim, and Jim, sisters Linda Sexton and Gail Crewdson, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Cindy Nelson, and nephew Doug Crewdson.

“A beautiful life came to an end.

He died as he lived: everybody’s friend.

In our hearts, a memory will always be kept

of one we loved — and will never forget.”
