Edna Laurie Ison, 55, of Bruce Crossing, MI, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2021, at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital. She was born July 27th, 1965, to the late George and Marjorie (Maxfield) Ison, in Ontonagon, MI.
She was a 1983 graduate of Ontonagon Area Schools, where she also earned a certificate in Office Occupations and Welding. After high school she earned many certificates from Joliet Job Core Center in Joliet, IL in building and maintenance, construction, welding and numerous others.
Edna is survived by her significant other Mike Nurmi, Bruce Crossing, MI; her brothers George (Lynn) Birmingham, AL, Ken (Nyra) Ontonagon, MI, John (Yvonne) Republic, MI, Edward (friend Judy) Ontonagon, MI; sister Bonnie Ison Wiltse of Ontonagon, MI; friends Big Gary and longtime friend Heidi Giesau; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; her 2 cats (Elmer and Skitters), and her dog JJ.
Edna is preceded in death by her parents and sister Lucy Wolfe.
Edna had many things she enjoyed in life, especially feeding the peacocks, squirrels, rabbits, and deer.
A graveside service at Riverside Cemetery in Ontonagon is being planned with her brother John Ison officiating.
