James Steber, 80 years old of White Pine passed away peacefully at his home on August 15th.
James was born in Antigo, Wisconsin to Evelyn Dickow on June 11th, 1943. James married Joan Locher on December 28th, 1963. Jim and Joan met in Twin Lakes under a maple tree and the rest was history. Together they had four children. James attended Jeffers High School and completed his degree in White Pine High school. Jim worked in the White Pine Copper Mine for over 30 years until it closed, working mostly jobs underground.
James was a man who had a rough time sitting still. You could always find him working in his workshop creating something or traveling the United States either on his Harley Davidson or pulling his teardrop camper. Always looking for an adventure. Most recently he really enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winter especially with his partner Marcia.
James is survived by his children; Michael (Sarah), James jr. (Gisella), Kathleen and Bradley (Liz): Siblings; Otto (Jane) Dickow, Todd Dickow, Jeannie Korich, Dawn (William) Podner, Peggy (Marty) Pintar and Suzie (Ken) Pasanen; Grandchildren; Nicholas Steber, Benjamin (Rachel) Steber, Madelaine (Wences) De Leon Villanueva, Andrew (Claire) Steber, Brooke Steber, James jr.(JT), Bryenna, Gunner, Anya and Ally.
James is preceded in death by wife Joan and brother Giles.
