Janice Marie Hoover (82) of Mass City passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 with her family by her side, into the arms of her loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jan was born July 6, 1937, to Curtis and Virginia Spencer (Trepanier) in Oconto, Wisconsin.

She was known for her smile, witty antics and her laugh, crazy hats and glasses and was always up for an adventure. Jan enjoyed dressing up for Halloween and having a good time. Thursday nights were date night for her and the love of her life Bobby, where they could be found on the dance floor at the Eagles open mic. She was known to be up for any game whether it be Scrabble (her fave), Trivial Pursuit, cribbage or the grandkids' favorite, the penny game (Michigan Tripoly). She enjoyed crossword puzzles until her disease took it from her.  She worked for many years at Maple Manor where she was known as “the afternoon boss” until she decided to go trucking with Bobby who was an over the road trucker. She was known as “mom” to all of her kids’ friends and many more.

She is survived by her husband Bobby of just shy of 64 years, children R. Scott (Janice Ambrose), Ontonagon; James (Cheryl), Mass City; John (Cindy), Twin Lakes; Mary Jo (Robert) Bodie, Mass City; Kurt (Isabel), San Antonio, TX; Thomas (Jill Armstrong), South Milwaukee, WI; Chad (Colleen), South Milwaukee, WI. She is further survived by her brother James Spencer, Cottage Grove, WI; sister Sharon Bauer, Gainesville, FL; sister Carol (Allen) Johnson, Germantown, WI; and sister-cousin Laverne Mohalski, Appleton, WI. Fifteen grandchildren, 24 + 2 on the way great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and many many friends old and new. She will be greatly missed, as she was loved by all.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Sunday, May 31st, 2020 at 1:00pm EST at the Hoover Farm (9021 Fox Rd Mass City (off Mud Creek Rd-do not follow GPS directions)), Reverend Michael Laakko officiating. Please bring a memory to share.
