Obituary

Julie Elizabeth Morgan, 65, of Ontonagon, Michigan died on February 23 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital, Ontonagon, following a severe stroke.

Julie was born at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi to Alice Mae (Haake) Morgan and Orrin Morgan on November 15, 1957. She grew up as an Air Force “brat” in Japan, Turkey, Illinois, and Massachusetts before her family moved to Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania in the late 1960s. Julie graduated from Pocono Mountain High School in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania, and the University of Great Falls in Great Falls, Montana. She married Hans VonMilla in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania, in 1982. She kept four horses at home and was deeply involved in their care. She also enjoyed gardening and maintaining her rural property near Ontonagon.

Julie is survived by her husband, Hans, her brother Christopher Morgan, and his wife Mary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Paul, and her sister Ann.

Julie’s family will hold a celebration of her life at her home, at a date yet to be decided. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, you donate to your favorite animal welfare charity.

Cane Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
