Marilys Charlene Floyd, 72, passed away peacefully at home on January 28, 2020 with loved ones nearby after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 28, 1947 to Valentine and Ada (Spargo) Augustine. She graduated from the Ewen High School class of 1965. On June 19,1970 she married Richard Floyd the love of her life, and they made their home in Rockland. This June would have been their 50th wedding anniversary.
Marilys, an avid lover of music, worked at Maple Manor and Long Term for 15 years as a CNA and later as Activities Director, retiring in 2000.
She is survived by husband Richard, daughters Kathy (Charles) Kotlaris and Karen (Robert) Juntunen; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; sister Ruth (David) Trzecinski and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Karla (James) Croteau, sister Valerie (David) Haapala, brother Valentine (Sonny) Augustine and former husband Gerald Kovalainen.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no funeral. Spring burial will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Rockland.
