Mary Bowen Obituary

Mary "Jane" Bowen, a resident of White Pine, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Long Term Care of Ontonagon at the age of 82. She was born July 6, 1938 to the late Wilmer and Marie Biggs in St. Louis City, MO.

She attended high school in Paducah, KY and Lindenwood College in St. Charles, MO.

Jane had a long career working for Deerfield State Bank, in Deerfield Illinois as Vice President. After retiring, she moved to White Pine, Michigan, and worked for Citizens State Bank where she was able to meet most of the strong community.

Jane was an active member of White Pine United Methodist Church, involved in two wonderful book clubs, a close knit quilt guild, the Library Board, the 4th of July Fireworks Committee, and helping out at the church for Christian Kids Club and Methodist Women's Friendship Tea (UMW).

Jane is survived by her children Bruce (Nancy) Bowen, Brenda Warner, Burt (Alene) Bowen, grandchildren Robert (Ronnie) Bye, Daniel (Kim) Bye, BJ Bowen, Billy Warner, Jeffrey Bowen, Andrew Bowen and great grandchildren Brayden Bowen, Caden & Blakely Bye, Hailey & Palmer Bye.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents and Mary Cave (“Auntie”).

Due to the pandemic, there will be no formal services. The family is preparing a virtual memorial tribute and would like your participation to celebrate Jane's life. If you could please record and send a video memory about Jane, pictures, written memories, funny moments, highlights and celebrations in virtually any format it would be greatly appreciated. The family wishes any memorial contributions to be made to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital Foundation, 601 S 7th St, Ontonagon, MI 49953, in memory of Jane Bowen.

The family of Jane also wishes to extend a special thanks to the doctor's, nurse's and staff at LTC (Long Term Care) of Ontonagon. Their spirit and care were an enormous help to Jane in her final year. Along with her wonderful friends and extended family for their love and support throughout Jane's life.
