Obituary

Mervin Dallas Hughes (80) of Ontonagon passed away on 4–27–23 at home.

Merv was born in Detroit Michigan to Alva Hughes and Ruth Hagan on 3-3-1943. Merv married Bonnie Lee Kaskisto in Detroit, and worked as a local 25 ironworker, who was a successful business owner and operator of Hughes Brothers Inc. He ran the family business until he retired, then Merv and Bonnie moved to Ontonagon Michigan.

He loved to deer hunt with family and partridge hunt with his wife. He enjoyed going to the casinos with his family and working on vehicles. Merv had a great sense of humor, his CB handle was “Sewer Rat.” The most favorite saying of Mervs was “2+2 = 4.”

Merv is survived by sister Judy Mojak( Gary). Children, Victoria Stone(Tom). James Hughes, Shelly Hughes, Christopher Hughes(Marlo). Grandchildren: Tara Fuhrman(Robert), Samantha Hughes-Spring(Daniel) and great grandson, Ronix Spring as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, who Merv loves so much.

Merv is proceeded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lee Hughes.
