Michael "Mike" Rubich, 78, died peacefully at home on March 28. Mike was born in Ontonagon on December 15, 1942 to Michael and Louise Rubich. After graduating from Ontonagon High School, Mike married the love of his life Mary Jane Colclasure on February 8, 1964. After living and working in Milwaukee for a short time, they returned to Ontonagon to raise their family. While Mike was a proud retired papermaker and loved to take pictures, he was proudest of his family.
He is survived by his two sons: Robert (Kathy) Rubich, Scott (Jessica) Rubich, daughter Michelle (Tim) Seppanen, grandchildren Andrew (Stephanie) Rubich, Chris (Nickey) Rubich, Kimberly (Jeremy) Walizer, Jacob Rubich, Luke Rubich, Aurora Seppanen, great grandchildren; Hunter, Tucker, Paisley, Carter, Jase and Lily; sister in laws Shirley Skoviak, Katherine Colclasure, brother in laws Jack (Bonnie) Colclasure, Bill Turin and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Louise Rubich, his wife Mary Jane, his sisters Mary Lou Turin, Dorothy and Theresa, brother in laws Ed, Bob, Merle, sister in law Clara and good friend Mary Lou.
The family would like to thank Aspirus Home and Hospice for their kindness in the last weeks, NP Szanne Miron, Brooke & Lynn at UP Family Health, and Ron and Pauline Frazer for all of their help.
A service will be held on July 10th, Saturday at 11am at the Holy Family Church with Father Michael Jacobus officiating, following with the burial at Holy Family Cemetery immediately following.
