Pauline Tahtinen Wesander, age 86, passed away on February 1, 2022 at Canal View in Hancock, MI. Pauline was born in Ontonagon on April 25, 1935.
Pauline loved the outdoors, especially on sunny days; visiting with friends; and singing. But she was happiest when she could spend time with her children and grandchildren - laughing and listening to their stories.
Pauline is survived by her children: Ethel (Chet) Boodry; Sharon (Gil Beecher) Tahtinen; Wally (Barb) Tahtinen; and Donna Wesander. Grandchildren: Sharon (Jeff) Wunderlich; Troy (Brittney) Tahtinen; Hillary (Chris) Goodner; Cindy Wiltse, Wally (Robyn Brancato) Wiltse. Great grandchildren: Justin Wilbur; Blake, Paige, Ryan and Brandon Wunderlich; Dominique and Calogero Wiltse; and Wade Tahtinen.
Pauline is preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Tahtinen and Donald Wesander, a grandson, her parents, a brother and a sister. She is also preceded in death by her beloved beagle, Queenie.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at Siloa Lutheran Church with visitation at 11:00am, followed by a service at 12:00pm. A burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Ontonagon.
A luncheon will take place in the basement of the Siloa Lutheran Church after the completion of the burial.
The family of Pauline wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the entire staff at Canal View and Hospice for the exceptional care she received during her stay there.
