Raymond J. (Ray) McClung, 77 of Ontonagon, formerly of Mass City passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in L'Anse.
He was born September 24, 1943 in Hancock, MI. His parents were Samuel and Bertha McClung. Ray attended Alston grade school and the Baraga High School, graduating with the class of 1962. He also attended Suomi College in Hancock, MI for several years.
From September 5, 1962 until August 25, 1965 he served in the United States Army. On September 22, 1967 he married the former Evelyn L. Aho, in Pelkie, MI. Ray was employed at the White Pine Copper Mine from 1968 until 1995, for 27 years until retirement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, three sons James (Jody) McClung of Little Lake, MI, Martin McClung of Marquette, MI, and Jason McClung of Iron River, MI . Five grandchildren, Kristen, Kymber, Derrick, James Jr., and Cory Ray; two great grand daughters, Delaney and Charlotte, uncle Arthur Juntunen along with many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 11 am at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon with Pastor Jay Welshonse officiating.. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Spring burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery in Greenland.
Burial for Ray will be June 18, 2021, Friday at 3:00pm at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Greenland.
