Rodney "Nubby" Mattson

Rodney Donald "Nubby" Mattson passed away at Aspirus Wausau on Wednesday, February 22nd at the age of 85. 

Nubby was born in Bruce Crossing at the Grunlands House on August 7, 1937, to Onnie & Toini (Ojaniemi) Mattson. He married Betty Pokela in October of 1963. Betty passed away August of 2009.

He was an avid hunter and loved being at deer camp. He worked various jobs to include the Creamery in Bruce Crossing as well as Chrysler and GM in Grand Blanc.

Nubby is survived by his sisters Donna (Robert) Antilla and Darcy (Mike) Juntti; brother Roger (Michelle) Mattson, and brother-in-law Mike Juhola.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his Mother and Father and siblings; Raymond-(sister in law Lillian), Doris, Erland, Dorothy-(brother in law Roger) and Darlene, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held, with Pastor Kay Richter officiating, at Cane Funeral Home-Bruce Crossing Chapel on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 2:00pm, with visitation from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.
