Tanya Lynnette Flink, 47, of Ontonagon passed away unexpectedly on February 10th, 2020 at her home. Tanya was born on 11/03/1972 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, to the late Roger and Karen Myllymaki Flink. She attended school and graduated from Webb High School in 1991. Tanya went to college for 2 years at UW-LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
After college Tanya was employed as a cashier at the Ho-Chunk Casino in Baraboo, Wisconsin, She transferred to the Rainbow Casino in Nekoosa, Wisconsin with the same position after 1 and 1/2 years. Her flair for fashion got the best of her and wishing to reside in a city she moved to Madison where she was employed by Shopko in the South Town Mall. She managed the women's department, which she elevated from the store's loss leader to the most profitable. She moved to Milwaukee to live in a bigger city and was employed by Stein-Mart as Manager for some time. She then went to work at Stone's Jewelry in Capitol Court where she was studying gemology. With the death of the owner, that business closed.
Tanya went to work at Cachet( a women's boutique) in the Mayfair Mall in Milwaukee She became the the co-manager where she remained for 10 years. Wanderlust enveloped her and she tried another dream of hers and went to work for 21st Century Tile Company in Butler, Wisconsin where she excelled as a Sales Associate working with Interior Designers and home builders. She loved that job! Her health deteriorated and she was forced to leave that position.
Tanya moved to Ontonagon to be with and assist her mother in 2016. She was currently employed at the Ontonagon County Courthouse in the Clerk of Court-Registrar of Deeds office.
Tanya is survived by her mother, Karen Flink; 2 brothers- Rodney Flink of Ontonagon and Erick(Dawn) Flink of Janesville, Wisconsin; her aunts---Carolyn Gregory of Bruce Crossing, Susan Myllymaki of Ontonagon, and Nancy(Jerry) Bennett of Rolla, Missouri and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Roger Flink; her godmother Elsa Robb; her grandparents--John and Ellen Flink ; Willard and Helmie Myllymaki; her aunt and uncle--Leo and Carol Englund.
Funeral Services for Tanya will be held at the Siloa Lutheran Church on Monday, February 17th with the visitation from 10:00am until 11:00am and the funeral service at 11:00am with a luncheon following in Fellowship Hall. Pastor Jay Welshonse officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Maple Grove Cemetery in Greenland.
