Vivian LeMoine Fish, 90, of Ontonagon, MI, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021 at St Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN following a stroke. Vivian was born on January 18, 1931 in Gladstone, MI to Werner and Margaret Olson. She then spent much of her childhood in Escanaba, MI.
On May 19, 1948, she married Donald W. LeMoine in East Lansing, MI. They had met at Fortune Lake Bible Camp in Crystal Falls, MI the year before. He preceded her in death in December 1993. They had three children together: Donald II, Christine, and Peter. Vivian loved her job as a nurse’s aide at the Ontonagon Memorial Hospital, where she worked for many years. She was a caregiver to many in her lifetime.
On August 26, 1995, she married Charles Fish, a childhood friend, in Rapid River, MI, He preceded her in death in August 2007. They lived in Stonington, MI where Vivian loved to feed the deer and turkeys that came up to her back door.
Vivian was a member of Siloa Lutheran Church and the Eagles, where she made many pasties.
Vivian is survived by her children, Donald II (Cindy) LeMoine, Christine (Larry) Peterson, and Peter LeMoine; her grandchildren, Brian, Laura, Peter (PJ), Penny, and Alison; great-grandchildren, Nikolas, Noah, Kaytlin, Lukus, Sophie, Madelyn, Cory, Devin, Brian, and Destiny; great-great-grandchildren, Elijah and soon-to-be Alaina; siblings, Joyce, Jerry, Glen, and Janet; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; great-grandson, Elijah; and siblings, Raymond, Ronald, Frances, Werner (JR), Gordon, Lloyd, and Harvey.
As per Vivian’s request, a private graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Ontonagon, MI on June 17, 2022 at 1pm with Pastor Bruce Thorsen officiating.
