Vivian Rosemarie (Aho) Store, 91, of Mass City, passed away at the Aspirus Ontonagon Long Term Care Unit on Monday November 17th, 2020. Vivian was born on July 11, 1929, the only child of Arvo and Rose Aho of Greenland Michigan. She was married to Wilbert Waino Store in June of 1946, and had three children: Carolyn Thomas of Iron Mountain, Michigan/Deceased, Linda Murway of Firestone, Colorado, and Randy Store of Toivola, Michigan/Deceased.
Vivian had five grandchildren: Becky Hautamaki/deceased and Scott Thomas of Iron Mountain. Waylon and Penny Store, Crystal Bradley of Pearland, Texas, and Billy Store of Louisiana. As well as, Kristopher Murway of Colorado. She also had nine great-grand children: McKenzie and Johnathon Thomas, Tiaishia, Jer’ryah, and Jerry Jr Sweeting, Olivia Bradley, Bradley Aucoin, Gabby Store, Heather Fuller, Caitlyn Hausmann, Elyssa Salin. Finally, she had two great-great grandchildren: Kendrick Fuller and Liliana Salin.
Vivian spent most of her life in the Ontonagon area. She was involved in the senior community. She was an active member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church of Ontonagon. Her special passion was music which she enjoyed most while playing her accordion at various functions and senior events. She participated in many of the Little Brothers events – snowmobiling was high on her list. She was especially thankful for the many young college students from Finlandia University in Hancock, Michigan who would visit her as part of their senior outreach program. She was thankful for the caring nurses, doctors, and activity coordinator – who encouraged her to be her best. But most of all, her most prideful accomplishment was to graduate from Houghton High School in 1986, at the age of 57.
All final wishes are being coordinated by Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon. Due to COVID guidelines on travel and gatherings, the family has elected to delay the funeral until spring, when a graveside memorial service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Greenland, Michigan will be performed. Tentative date is Mother’s Day, 2021.
