William P. Anttila

William (Bill) Anttila, 84, of Mass City, MI, passed away on February 17,2020 at his home in Ontonagon, MI. Bill was born on the family farm to Paul and Anna (Ruotanen) on November 13,1935.

He graduated from Mass High School and later married Judith Kesti on April 21,1956 . They were married for 53 years. Bill found love again, and married Barbara Taeger on August 4, 2010.

He worked as a Machinist at Smurfit Stone Paper Mill for 35 years. He was very involved with the Mass/ Greenland volunteer Fire Department, St.Paul’s Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge, The Ontonagon County Fair Board and The Michigan/ Wisconsin Antique Power Association.

Bill is survived by his daughter Phyllis (Buster) Watson, son Steve (Jessica) Anttila and loving extended family. He is proceeded in death by his parents, son Michael, grandson Paul , wives Judith and Barb, along with his beloved sister Helen.

A service will take place Thursday, February 27,2020 at 1:00pm at  Cane Funeral Home, with visitation from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. A luncheon will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mass City at 3:00pm .
