Thomas Stanley Faustin, Jr.

November 1, 1960 ~ February 16, 2017 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Trout Creek, MI — Master Sergeant Thomas “Tommy” Stanley Faustin Jr., born November 1, 1960, was called to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 16, 2017, after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. His devotion to God, country, and family supported him in his struggle, ultimately giving him peace. Thomas S. Faustin Jr., was survived by his loving wife, Sharon, daughter Felicia, granddaughter Penelope, parents Diane Ritter (Howard) and Thomas Faustin Sr. (Carol), maternal grandmother, Mildred Hugo, brother David Faustin (Janice), sister Cari Ann VanDevelde (Craig), nephew and nieces, Conner and Morgan VanDevelde, and Alexandra, Jacqueline and Victoria Faustin. He was also blessed with a large and loving family. Survived by many loved ones consisting of his mother-in-law June Koppela, step-children and their families, step-brothers and their families, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Master Sergeant Thomas S. Faustin Jr., an active member and deacon of Bruce Crossing Bible Church, was a retired decorated Army combat veteran of twenty years. He proudly and courageously served his country in The Iraq War (Desert Storm), where he earned the Bronze Star for Valor. His last duty assignment was Commandant of Cadets for six Christian colleges in Wheaton, IL. Further, he was awarded the United States Army Soldier of the Year in 1982.

He grew up in Arenac County, Michigan and attended Arenac Eastern High School, where he excelled in academics and numerous varsity sports.  He graduated from Garber High School. After retirement from the Army, he earned his Associate in Applied Science: Engineering & Design Technologies and Architectural Design degrees from Kirkland Community College, where he graduated at the top of his class. Further, he founded his own corporation, 8 Point Design & Detailing, Inc. Within his company, he utilized computer aided drafting to design large custom homes and architectural commercial property masterpieces that were advertised in the Wall Street Journal. Following his entrepreneurial spirit, Tommy became a Michigan licensed contractor and pursued his lifelong dream of building a magnificent Scandinavian hand-scribed log home. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that Tommy lived his life tenaciously, and with a strong conviction of moral servitude to God, Country, and Family.  He never gave up; he never gave in.  We feel blessed that he is at peace with his Creator.

Tommy lived in light of the Scriptures, especially Revelation 1 which says that we who believe in our Lord Jesus Christ are among the ranks of a people set apart as God’s servants. It is a blessing and calling to worship the Lord, to adore and honor Him, and to ensure that all glory is given to His name. Our duties also include interceding on behalf of others.
