Tom was a friend of mine early in my teaching career. I will always remember the day we met, he walked into my classroom with a very old and smelly smoking jacket and a big chip on his shoulder. After his first day he told me flat out that he didn't think there was anything he could learn from someone as young as me. I asked him to give the class a chance and he reluctantly agreed. A year later he took a quality class and when I asked the students to pick 2 minor things they wanted to change and write a journal about them he insisted on picking to quit smoking. After 8 weeks he was well on his way and he confided that the 2nd thing he really wanted to do was meet someone. That next fall when he walked into my class he announced to me that he was smoke free and with the look of a child on Christmas day he said "And I met someone, her name is Sharon." The love he had for her permiated everything he did from then on. I don't think I met Sharon until graduation day but I felt like she was sitting next to him every day in that classroom. Tom was a wonderful student and a great friend.

Dear Faustin Family,
We extend our deepest sympathy to you on your great loss. Tommy will be missed and remembered as a husband, a son, and a brother; as a father, a grandfather, an uncle, and as a friend. While we mourn his passing today, our comfort is in the knowledge that his suffering is over, and in our faith that Tommy is now with the Lord. He is, and will remain, in our thoughts, our hearts, and in our prayers.

He will always be remembered. As you share the stories and the memories of how he lived his life and how very much he meant, may you find comfort in knowing and trusting in the Lord, Jesus Christ And throughout this difficult time, may you also know the deep sympathy and concern that is felt for you and all your family.
