Anna Irene Lobeck 90 of Ontonagon passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at her daughter's home in Pelkie, MI.
She was born July 23, 1924 to the late Allan & Mayme Daniels. On November 24, 1944 in New York City Irene was united in marriage to Ardell Lobeck.
She enjoyed baking nisu for her family and sold it to her friends. Even as Irene's age advanced, people asked her if she was still making and selling her nisu. Irene had been a 4-H leader, a member of the Eastern Star, the VFW Auxiliary and a member of the Siloa Lutheran Church. She was an avid member of a local rock and gem club. But with all her activities, Irene's main occupation was raising children. Both her own and later her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ardell, son Joseph Layton and infant son George Randall, 1 great granddaughter Kyra Beth Raymond, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Irene is survived by her children; Allan (Dana) Lobeck of Lake Arrowhead, CA. Marsha (John) Fritzinger of Loganville, GA, Janet (Calvin Kostamo) Raymond of Pelkie, MI, Janice Ambrose of Old Hickory, TN and Patrick (Linda) Lobeck of Kingsford, MI, 2 sisters, Joyce (George) Eberhard & Katherine (David) Eberhard, 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3rd 10:30 a.m. EST at the Siloa Lutheran church in Ontonagon. Friends may call at the church 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Spring burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Ontonagon.
