Jessie's s Family: I am sorry for the lateness of this message but only recently found that Jessie had passed away. I'd like to extend my sympathies on behalf of the Saari kids who grew up on Zinc Street in Ontonagon. I'm sure that we stopped daily at the corner store for candy, lVollwerth's big baloney and natural casing weiners wrapped up in butcher paper and tied up with string tfrom the meat ccase. and just to see Chester and Jessie cuz they were always happy to see us and say hello. Of course I can't forget Ming Jessie's Pekinese dog who we heard dined on liverwurst from the meat counter. Another favorite memory is Jessie's roses which everyone called Jessie Davison's English Rose Garden because she was an exotic war bride from England andwas good atraising orses! I regarded her as very special. loved Chester and Jessie. I hope they are together again in a Heavenly rose garden. So glad they were a part of my childhood! Ginger Saari

So sorry we could not make the funeral. There are so many fond memories of your mother and my mother and the fun they had together as early neighbors and life long friends. Both Dick and I have great memories of Jessie and Chester from the Ontonagon years!

It was such a joy to see Jessie in the front pews at St. Anne's raising her arms in praise to the Lord while we were singing. We have missed her. My sympathy and prayers.

To all of Jessie's family,
When Jerry and I got married, I started going to Chester and Jessie's store as that's where Jerry went since he didn't live that far from there. They became two of our favorite people ever! We were so glad to see Jessie at one of the last Kallunki family reunions and had a nice talk with her that day. Jessie had a way of making everyone feel loved and we, in turn, loved her. We kept in touch through Christmas cards every year for a long time. Our condolences to all of you. Jerry and Linda Koski

Our sincere sympathy to Jessie's family. We loved sitting behind her at 10AM service at St. Anne's. She knew every word to every hymn and her enthusiasm was contagious. Mary Jo & The Aging & Disability Resource Center of Brown County are also thankful for her willingness to participate in focus groups. Her contribution of time and ideas is now and will play a part in improved services for years to come.
