John P. Cane

Manager/Funeral Director

John is a fourth generation Funeral Director and lifelong resident of Ontonagon. He graduated from Ontonagon Area High School with the Class of 1986, attended Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI, Northern Michigan University, Marquette, MI and graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, Illinois.

John joined his father, Lyal Cane at the funeral home in 1992, working with him for several years before his passing.

He is very active in the community. Currently John is serving as an Ontonagon County Commissioner; with the Ontonagon Volunteer Fire Department; the Ontonagon Men’s Association and with the Norwich Country Club.

Previously John was a member of the Ontonagon Memorial Hospital Board, serving as president for several years, Ontonagon/White Pine Rotary Club where he had served as president and the Ontonagon Village Council.

During his free time, he enjoys volunteering with Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly, walking along the shores of Lake Superior, and spending time with his three children Joseph, Olivia and Natalie.

Pattie Roehm

Business Manager

Pattie comes to us with a strong administrative assistant background and caring attitude for others.

She was born and raised in Ontonagon then moved after graduation, returning from Portland, OR in 2019 when she moved back to Ontonagon to care for family.

She has an empathy for others and takes great care with each family she assists .

She enjoys crafting, the beach and spending time with her family and friends.

Stacy Canada

Funeral & Cremation Associate

Stacy Canada brings years of compassionate experience from her work as a rural funeral director in Colorado, where she supported families with care, dignity, and respect. Her background is rooted in service and a deep understanding of rural communities.



After relocating to Ontonagon, Michigan, Stacy found a place that truly feels like home. She is an active community member, serving on the Gogebic-Ontonagon County Head Start Policy Board Council and the Ontonagon County Healthcare Access Committee.



In her free time, Stacy enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren, reading, spending time outdoors, and taking in the beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula—especially along the shores of Lake Superior.
