Elaine France (Fencil) Greeno

Elaine Frances Greeno, 88 of Ewen died March 31, 2016, at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield due to complications from Alzheimer's.

She was born on December 26, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Kipping) Fencil. She attended and graduated from Ewen High School in 1945. On June 7, 1947, she married Edward F Greeno at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Father Vincent C. Savageau. He preceded her in death in 2013. The couple resided in Ewen where she was employed at the State Bank of Ewen until retirement.

She enjoyed spending time at the cabin at Beaton's Lake and especially her crafting. "If you are about to throw away an old pair of panty hose - stop, Elaine could use them in a craft project". "Crafty Elaine" was a meticulous crafter and enjoyed making and selling her crafts.

She was actively involved in the church and was a member of the Ewen American Legion Auxiliary where she held the office of treasurer for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed, her brothers Leroy, Ralph and Jerome and her sisters Katherine Gull and Alice Gries.

She is survived by her daughters, Charlene (Duane) VanCampenhout of Green Bay, Wiand Janice (Gordon) Thomasini of Ewen; her grandchildren Jay (Tanya) and Dawn VanCampenhout; her great­ grandchildren Dustin and Brody, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 10-11 am ET at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ewen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11 am ET with the Father Antony Kalapura celebrant.   Lunchwill be served in the parish hall following the Mass.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery, Ewen, in the spring.

The Cane Funeral Home-Bruce Crossing Chapel is assisting the family.
